Our Decorative Concrete Services

Acid StainingDecorative Concrete Contractors for Acid Staining

Concrete acid staining is a chemical reaction process using a mixture of water, mineral salts, and a slight amount of muriatic acid to create a decorative concrete surface. This chemical reaction, combined with the existing minerals (primarily lime) in the concrete, creates a new color on the surface over a period of one to four hours. The floor is later scrubbed to remove excess stain and become neutralized. Due to natural inconsistencies in the surface level of concrete floors, acid staining creates a variegated or mottled appearance that is unique to each slab. The color penetration ranges from 1/16″ to 1/32″.

At Maintenance Solutions, our decorative concrete contractors use an acid staining process to develop a transparent color that does not peel or flake. It gives the concrete an attractive appearance. Colors tend to be earth tones, such as tans, browns, reddish browns, and greens.

Decorative Concrete OverlayDecorative Concrete Contractors for Overlays

Decorative concrete overlaying is a system of adding highly durable hybrid polymer concrete in any color, pattern, and texture to dull concrete. Our decorative concrete contractors use rubber imprinting tools (stamps) that impress into a pre-mixed concrete overlay material shortly after it is placed to create natural stone or brick textures. Previously, this process could only be performed on freshly poured concrete. However, our decorative concrete overlay system now allows us to place a thin cementitious topping material that adheres to concrete and provides a newly resurfaced coating, restoring worn surfaces.

This creates an attractive, three-dimensional, two-toned appearance on top of your existing old, dull concrete. Whether applied to commercial floors, garages, or entryways for corporate buildings, our decorative overlay system creates the realistic effect of slate, stone, or brick at a fraction of the cost.

Stamped ConcreteDecorative Concrete Contractors for Stamping

The stamping process can only be completed during a new pour of concrete. During this process, a pattern is stamped into the surface. Stamping a new concrete pour has the advantage of being all one piece, whereas a concrete overlay bonds two pieces together. There is a limitless array of design possibilities that can be used – all providing great durability at a lower cost than natural products. This makes stamped concrete an easy choice for new construction and renovation projects.

The installation consists of pressing molds into the concrete while the concrete is still in its plastic state. Color is achieved by using dry shakes, color hardeners, powder or liquid releases, or integral colors and acid stains. All these products may be combined to create an even more intricate design. Our team has applied this process to commercial driveways, roads, parking lots, and even interior floors. We can also completely restore and rejuvenate faded stamped concrete colors and presentations.

Concrete DyesDecorative Concrete Dyeing Contractors

We recommend concrete dyes as a simple, cost-effective solution for resurfacing or restoring a concrete floor. Concrete dyes are now the leading coloring product within commercial industries. Depending on the application, concrete dyes can be used to reproduce a multitude of designs while simultaneously creating a permanent color. Although dyes will not hide any imperfections in the concrete, they enhance the variation that the concrete already has.

Broom FinishesDecorative Concrete Contractors for Broom Finishes

Broom Finishes are one of the leading finishes to decorate your concrete floor and add slip-resistance. At Maintenance Solutions, we look at slip-resistant broom finishes as pieces of art. This process is a simple decorative effect that can be applied to commercial/industrial properties by just running a broom in various directions. Additional dyes, stains, or stamped concrete finishes can be applied to the broom finish process to increase beauty.

Scored ConcreteDecorative Concrete Contractors for Scored Concrete

Scored concrete is a great way to give both new pours and existing pours a new look. Scoring is essentially cutting shallow grooves into the concrete. These cuts can be used to create the illusion of tile or stone or even to “draw” a custom pattern or logo into the concrete. Scoring is often combined with colored or stained concrete to accentuate the surface pattern. It can also be applied to plain concrete to add a touch of decorative design to an otherwise humdrum slab. Concrete can be scored with many different tools, but the most common tools are concrete saws and grinders using diamond blades.  For a more rustic or rough look, chiseling the lines is a great method, although it can be more labor-intensive and tedious.

An advantage to scored concrete is that it adds decorative touches to a slab without tearing out and starting over or covering the slab with other products. It is a very economical and eco-friendly approach to decorative concrete. Also, since the score lines are actually cut into the concrete, the decorative appearance is as permanent as the slab itself. The maintenance process involves simple cleaning and is as easy as sweeping or rinsing the floor. Though if the scored concrete is sealed, it may require resealing periodically. Finally, the biggest advantage of scored concrete is that it can be a completely custom design.

MMA Flooring SystemsDecorative Concrete Contractors for MMA Systems

The MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) system is an application that can be used to decorate or overlay concrete floors within a short amount of time (24 hours). The system can be used in every industrial and commercial seamless flooring application. It is found mostly within operating rooms, lab floors, and locker rooms.
